Delos is an ark of history that has been announced as a Unesco Heritage Site, just a breath away from the cosmopolitan Mykonos. The cradle of Apollo, god of light and Artemis, goddess of fertility and wilderness is a world-renowned archaeological site. The visitor gets mesmerized by the remarkable ancient antiquities dated back from the Archaic, the Classical, and the Hellenistic periods.The birthplace of gods was considered sacred. As a matter of fact, no one was allowed to born or die there. It was also a commercial center and used to host large gatherings to worship gods. The uninhibited island features an astonishing array of historical landmarks. The imposing circular building, Agora of the Competaliasts, was dedicated to Hermes and its ruins still fascinate the visitor.

Probably the most recognizable sight of Delos, the Avenue of the Lions was once dotted with sixteen marble sculptures to guard the island.
